Jena and me were going to the AMC awards in vegas... But all journeys start at the airport. I have never liked the airport experience, but this last experience really top the cake. First, we arrived and I realized I had to pay 15 dollars for my luggage each way on Delta, which is fine, but it would have been nice to know.
Then we wait in line for security. I do have to admit I think I am pro. I have always had my ID ready and belt, shoes, etc ready to take off. This time is what not to do... I take off my belt, and put it in the cylinders to go through the xray.. Jena was in front of me and her bag had to get checked, and I was thinking, "Jena, honestly its not that hard." The man searched through her bag, and found a 3.2 ounce perfume bottle that was over the 3 ounce rule, and through it away.. Ridiculous...
Now my carry on was my backpack (that I take to school, and I had packed earlier that morning.) The security guy says, " we also have to check an item in the bag."... What? I have never been checked. And honestly what could it be. He takes me into a clear room and pulls out my huge scissors that I use to cut laminate, and things children in my class color. I totally forgot I had those, yet alone, packed them for the trip. I almost was crying at this point saying I use them for school that I teach deaf blind kids, and He told me I was fine because the blades were okay. WHAT? they were huge... I dont want people have those scissors on planes.
The good news is, is that they did come in handy on the trip surprisingly.. and I put them in my luggage to go back... So don't bring scissors...
