Jeans...

The other day, I was looking for a pair of jeans. I hate trying on jeans, its a pain. And if they are a little tight you have to wiggle them off. The worst feeling is trying on pants, you pull them up and they only go to your knee... by this time, you are ready to cry. The worst is when you are trying on a certain size, and there is clothes left from the person that was before you, in your dressing room... You look at their outfits, and everything is cute, and a size 4. What person would be that size? Thats sick... I digress.
I have not had the best luck with Jeans. I believe the bad luck probably started when I was 13 years old, and wore Old Navy Husky Jeans. But that is another story for another day. I can probably count on one hand of my favorite jeans. I have the shortest legs. When I go to the Gap, the only jeans that fit me are the "Long and Lean, Ankle length"(No Joke).. I always grab my ankle length, long and lean jean, and they fit like a glove.
Now just looking at Jeans, you can't just find Jeans, they are so many categories of Jeans, for example:

Skinny, Long, Curvy, Bootcut, Slim, Stretch, Long, Tall, Short, Petite, Ankle, washed, distressed, straight, Mid rise, "Boyfriend", flared.. etc

That is just a start on how many different jeans out there. Good luck with the jean shopping!

There is One in Every Ward

I have been in 3 different wards, since I have been married. I have come to a conclusion... There is one in EVERY ward. Every ward that I have been in there is a person who:
-The Dave Hopper (But its hard to top him)
-The family who has 10 kids
-The person that is always late
-The cute old lady
-The guy that always wears a "U" tie, and matching socks after the Y loses
-The frazzled mom
-The mom trying to dress like a teenager
-The lady who always brings a pillow to sacrament for "medical reasons"
-The sleeping dad
-The deacon who you worry about, how he is going to handle high school
-The old german couple
-The deacon that wears skater shoes
-The girl that is 10 years old, that is a little bit chubby, that wears a velvet dress (even in the summer)
-The long prayer givers
-The person when they bear their testimony's you're nervous for them, they always say the craziest thing
-The commenter in Sunday School

Well that is some of the examples I had. It's a small list, but just know that you aren't the only one with weird church go'ers

What time is it?

I have always had a hard time with time. Let me explain... For some reason, I really never learned how to tell time. I think I missed that day in school (for Boyer that is not hard to believe). When I look at the clock I can read it, just fine. It is when people start saying, "a quarter after" or a "quarter to". I hate that! my brother had to sit down with me one day ( a few years ago) and teach me how to tell time (with a picture diagram). The problem is not the quarter after, or 15 after. The problem IS after you say a "quarter to", it does still not reveal what time IT actually is. I need to know the HOUR as well. My mom, once told me it was implied... Well if I knew the hour then I wouldn't be asking for the time!

Sorry to take out my frustrations in my blog. I think I am the only person on the planet that still can't tell time. For many of you, this is probably not the first time to hear about my issues with time...

I would like to share with you another day of school I probably missed. For some reason, I can't understand when people say "several", "few", or "couple". I remember, in 9th grade, english class, my teacher asked the class what several meant. I raised my hand, and said, "Doesn't it mean 7?" I was not trying to be 'cute', I honestly didn't learn that earlier. As many of you are thinking, the school system has failed us. No, I honestly think I either was sick that day, or playing with my pogs.

Well guys thanks for listening to my thoughts. Its a quarter after and I just wanted to share several thoughts with you!

Things that I've learned from my Mom

I find that I am turning more and more into my mom. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Eric does say that he can't tell the difference between us sometimes. My mom is a great person, and here are several things that I have learned.

1. Presentation is EVERYTHING. I remember being 7 years old, working on book reports, and having my mom say "presentation is everything." I have this bad feeling that I am going to say that for my kids. I had the best poster for my county report in 4th grade ( with my mom's "help")

2. Dogs are people. I have always grown up with a dog. As my mom gets older, the more the dogs are like people. My dad has always said that he wanted to come back in the next life, as my mom's dog. Nikki, our german shepard, was a normal dog. She didn't have special privileges or wear sweaters...Actually Nikki was not even able to go up the stairs. Brooks did say when he was younger that he "saw" Nikki upstairs in our duplex, brooks "sees" a lot of things, and I guess that is a subject for another day. Now, my mom's dog is Cooper. He is scared of his own shadow, and in my opinion, when I look into his little eyes, Im not sure if there is anything there.

3.She is not afraid to use a dictionary. There is a dictionary in each room of our house (along with vaseline). We aren't the best spellers, so we always need to double check.

4. Even if my mom was a billionaire, she would not pay for candy at a movie theater. She was so shocked the last time I bought a kit kat at the local theater.

5. Brighton's Cheers. I am happy to say that I know the class of 76' Cheers from memory ( and the dance moves).

6. Loves the royals, especially princess diana

7. Chocolate is the greatest thing

I chose seven things to list. Because my mom's favorite number is seven. Well I hope that I grow up to be more like my mom. She is the best.
