speed skating

I am watching the speed skating right now as we speak. I get really frustrated at this sport, and I was told maybe that I voice my opinion to much. First, are Asians the only people that can skate? Is that one of the requirements for speed skating... Apparently there is really good ice in Korea. Anywho, my biggest complaint, is that they spend so much effort in pointing their skates when they are crossing the finish line. Wouldn't it be better if they didn't slow down and point their skate? I don't know, I think its weird...
Just another night at the Petersen home. Watching the Olympics, watching dixie drop her toy from the bed and grab it on the floor, then go back on the bed(for the millionth time), and just trying not to go crazy.

OCD and Tv Shows....

Eric was watching a TV show tonight. I was making dinner, and thought I would come over and watch with him. It happened to be commercials when I sat down, and Eric usually watches the food network station. As I was sitting down, the commercials ended, and the TV show continued. As it started, there was this scary music when the title of the show came on, it was called, "Monsters within us"... Yup, its about parasites. I started watching, it was such a scary show, but yet I could not look away. I do have to admit that it was on bed bugs and some rare killing parasite. I can handle any type of scary movie, I thrive on scary movies, but parasite tv shows, scare the H E double hockey sticks out of me! So as I have been contemplating, I have thought of a top ten list that OCD people probably shouldn't watch...

CRAZY

I am such a strong magnet to crazy people... Eric and I have had the weirdest experiences of weird people as of late. For instance, Eric was walking dixie when a middle aged man was walking his CAT on a leash. Eric has run into many crazy people in our apartment complex, including a girl that was walking her dog with just a bath robe on. He said it was really awkward.

BUT today was the worst! Eric and I was eating at our cafe at work, at ARUP. We were just eating and talking, when Eric nudged me, and said "Linds look at that guy!" I look over he is watching Lord of the Rings on a DVD player, with head phones, and IS eating his fries with CHOPSTICKS! Haha, what a weirdo! And he was dipping them in fry sauce with the chopsticks. Welcome to crazy town- thats what brooks always says.

If you have any crazy stories, Please share...My biggest fear is maybe I am the Weird One, and everyone else is normal... but I doubt it!

Observations...

I would like to share with you a story, that happened to me yesterday. I was in Dillards, going down the escalators. As I am coming down, another family is going up on the escalators across from me. I over hear the mom, telling the 5 year old, " You need to tie up your laces on your shoes, or you will get stuck." As I over heard this, I could help but think of the trauma that will cause the young child later in life.
I have a similar story to the young child. I remember going up the escalators in ZCMI and my mom would always tell me of the story about the girl that got her hair stuck in the escalator and died. Now my mom might not remember that story, but I sure do. I have noticed that on the "Morris" side we tend to be over-reactors. It seems to me, alot of stories get blown out of proportion. That story about the girl, probably was not even true... but being OCD makes me have a great imagination. So I wonder, if my mom was saying something to that effect, and I happen to imagine it all in my head. Even if the whole thing did not happen, I have always been really careful with my hair on the escalators.
